Essex - Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions due to Works
What is happening?

(Seaton Close, Lawford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Seaton Close, Lawford in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Edgefield Avenue for a distance of approximately 70m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 12 days or where stated on a valid permit (BC311004WGGFDM3S – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct lay works are undertaken by Openreach.
No diversion route is available.
The Order will come into effect on 29th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Straight Road, Bradfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Straight Road, Bradfield in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 305m south of its junction with Windmill Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 4 days or where stated on a valid permit (MT00110281728 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Steam Mill Road, Windmill Road and vice versa (with access only into Straight Road).
The Order will come into effect on 29th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Oakley Road, Dovercourt)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Oakley Road, Dovercourt in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Ramsey Road to its junction with Low Road a distance of approximately 215m.
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time” restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 6 nights (20:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388933 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while machine surfacing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via B1414, Wix Road, Oakley Road, Harwich Road, A120, B1352 and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 15th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
