Summerhall Area, Various Roads - Temporary Road Restrictions
What is happening?
THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL
(SUMMERHALL AREA) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/104
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period to facilitate carriageway and footway resurfacing and junction treatment works, no person
shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on any part of (i) Summerhall from Melville Dr/Hope Park Ter to Summerhall Pl; (ii) Sciennes at Summerhall (iii) Melville Ter at Summerhall (iv) Summerhall Sq at Summerhall Sq/Summerhall Pl and (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on: Summerhall Pl, east side, from the south kerbline of Summerhall Sq, southwards to the north kerbline of West Preston St. Existing parking
restrictions may be suspended on the affected section of road described in (b). The alternative route for through vehicular traffic with respect to the road closures will be by way of (i) Summerhall – Causewayside, West Preston St, South Clerk St, Hope Park Ter & Hope Park Cres (ii) Melville Ter – Melville
Ter, Rillbank Ter, Rillbank Cres, Fingal Pl, Argyle Pl, Melville Dr & Hope Park Cres, or Melville Ter, Gladstone Ter, Sciennes Rd, St. Catherine’s Pl, Grange Rd & Causewayside (iii) Sciennes – Sciennes, Sciennes Rd, Gladstone Ter, Melville Ter, Rillbank Ter, Rillbank Cres, Fingal Pl, Argyle Pl, Melville Dr & Hope Park Cres, or Sciennes, Sciennes Rd, St. Catherine’s Pl, Grange Rd & Causewayside. There is no available diversion with respect to the closure of Summerhall Sq, where local access will be maintained, where practical. The Order shall
have effect from 02/09/25 to 27/11/25.
