What is happening?
The Isle of Wight Council (Staplers Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 7 2025 – Staplers Road, to include the entire gyratory system, will be closed for its entire length. Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 29 August 2025 and Friday 10 October 2025 the following roads will be closed at all times for a period of approximately 5 days within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable carriageway maintenance and lining and investigation works to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and on street advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. Adverse weather will have an impact on this programme:
The Isle of Wight Council (Brannon Way, Wootton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2025 – Brannon Way, Wootton will be closed for its entire length.
The Isle of Wight Council (Argyll Place, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2025 – Argyll Place, Ryde will be closed for its entire length.
The Isle of Wight Council (Tennyson Close, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2025 – Tennyson Close, Ryde will be closed for its entire length.
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 21 of the Town Police Clause Act 1847, proposes to make the following Orders: –
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 2 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1800 hours and 2359 hours, on Saturday 30 august 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,
A) No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along 1) Esplanade on both sides for its entire length; 2) Dover Street for its entire length; 3) Park Road between its junctions with Dover Street and Star Street; 4) Star Street for its entire length; 5) High Street from its junction with Star Street and St Thomas Square; 6) St Thomas Square for its entire length; 7) Union Street for its entire length; 8) North Walk for its entire length.
B) No person shall cause any vehicle to wait on both sides along 1) Dover Street between its junctions with Melville Street and Park Road; 2) Park Road between its junctions with Dover Street and Star Street,
The closure and restriction are required for safety during Ryde Illuminated Carnival. The alternative routes will be signposted locally

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1600 hours on Friday 15 August 2025 until 1600 hours on Friday 22 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, Shide Road Newport will be closed between its junctions with Queens Road, Newport, and its junction with Laburnum Close, Newport. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between Tuesday 26 August 2025, and Friday 29 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Broad Lane, From its junctions with Main Road and its junction with Mill Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Bridge Maintenance.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between Tuesday 26 August 2025, and Friday 29 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Steyne Road, Bembridge, From its junctions with Oakside Gardens and its junction with Turnstone Drive. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Drainage works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Emmett Hill, Chale, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 4 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between Tuesday 27 August 2025, and Friday 29 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Emmett Hill, Chale, From its junctions with Ashbridge Lane and its junction with Chale Footpath 31. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Drainage excavation works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift on Sunday 31 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Medina Way, Newport, From its junctions with Dodnor Lane and its junction with Parkhurst Road. Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 25 August 2025, until 1800 hours on Friday 29 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Moortown Lane, Brighstone, From its junctions with Upper Lane, Brighstone for a distance of 93 metres in a South westerly direction. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Albert Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 3 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Wednesday 27 August 2025 until 1600 hours on Thursday 28 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, Albert Road will be closed between its junction with Victoria Avenue and Hatherton Road. On street signage will depict the exact length of closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for safety utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Holyrood Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0730 hours on Monday 25 August 2025 and 1800 Monday 29 September 2025, or when the works has been completed, there will be a one-way restriction introduced along Holyrood Street, Newport between its junction with High Street and its junction with Lugley Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The one way is required during Scaffolding works in the area.
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 22 August 2025 and Friday 03 October 2025 the following roads will be closed between 19:00 - 06:00 hours for a period of approximately one to 3 nights within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable high friction surfacing works, and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads; and that no vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads;
and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by traffic signs. Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1500 hours and 2100 hours, on Saturday 23 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,
A) No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along 1) Beatrice Avenue for its entire length; 2) Victoria Grove for its entire length; 3) York Avenue for its entire length; 4) Clarence Road for its entire length; 5) Minerva Road for its entire length.
B) No person shall cause any vehicle to wait on both sides along 1) Beatrice Avenue for its entire length 2) Victoria Grove for its entire length, 3) York Avenue for its entire length, 4) Clarence Road for its entire length.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1100 hours and 1500 hours, on Saturday 23 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,
A) No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along 1) High Street between its junctions with Star Street and its junction with Cross Street 2) Cross Street for its entire length; 3) George Street between its junction with Cross Street to its junction with Star Street; 4) Star Street for its entire length; 5) St Thomas Square for its entire length;
B) No person shall cause any vehicle to wait on both sides along 1) George Street between its junctions with Cross Street and Star Street 2) Cross Street between its junctions with George Street and Union Street,
The closure and restriction are required for safety during Ryde Children’s Carnival. The alternative routes will be signposted locally.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1600 hours and 2200 hours, on Thursday 28 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,
A) No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along 1) High Street on both sides for its entire length; 2) Dover Street for its entire length; 3) Park Road between its junctions with Dover Street and Star Street; 4) Star Street for its entire length; 5) High Street from its junction with Star Street and St Thomas Square; 6) St Thomas Square for its entire length; 7) Union Street for its entire length.
B) No person shall cause any vehicle to wait on both sides along 1) Dover Street between its junctions with Melville Street and Park Road; 2) Park Road between its junctions with Dover Street and Star Street.
The closure and restriction are required for safety during Ryde Main Carnival. The alternative route will be signposted locally.
The following roads will be closed as the parade proceeds –
High Street for its entire length;
Beachfield Road between its junctions with Royal Crescent and High Street;
Royal Crescent for its entire length;
Melville Street between its junctions with Royal Crescent and Fitzroy Street;
Fitzroy Street between its junctions with Melville Street and Station Avenue;
Station Avenue between its junctions with Fitzroy Street and Albert Road;
Albert Road between its junctions with Station Avenue and Victoria Road;
Victoria Road between its junctions with Albert Road and High Street;
Culver Parade for its entire length.
The closure and restriction are required for safety during Sandown’s Illuminated Carnival. The alternative routes will be signposted locally.
The Isle of Wight Council (Esplanade, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1500 hours until 1500 hours on Sunday 31 August 2025, or when the event has finished, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along the Esplanade, Ryde: Northwest bound carriageway from its junction with North Walk to its junction with George Street. Southeast bound carriageway from its junction with George Street to its junction with North Walk. The closure is required in the interests of pedestrian and road safety whilst the IOW Scooter Rally Event takes place. The alternative route will be signposted locally.
The Isle of Wight Council (Newport Road, Apse Heath, Isle of Wight) (Temporary No Right Turn) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Friday 22 August 2025 until 2359 hours on Monday 25 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to turn right from Scotchells Brook Lane, Newchurch, onto Newport Road, Apse Heath. The restriction is required for safety during the IOW Scooter Rally. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1700 hours and 2100 hours, on Monday 25 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed or wait along
St Michaels Road between its junctions with Upper Green Road and The Cut;
Upper Green Road between its junctions with St Michaels Road and Mill Road;
Mill Road between its junctions with Lower Green Road and Upper Green Road;
Lower Green Road between its junctions with Mill Road and Vine Road;
Vine Road for its entire length.
The closure and restriction are required for safety during St Helen’s Carnival. The alternative routes will be signposted locally.
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Road Closure & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1800 hours and 2359 hours, on Saturday 21 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,
A) no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along, starting from, 1) Town Lane for its entire length;
2) South Street between its junction with St James Street and Prospect Road;
3) Church Litten between its junctions with South Street and Marks and Spencer – Access Road;
4) St James Street between its junctions with South Street and Trafalgar Road;
5) Trafalgar Road for its entire length;
6) Carisbrooke Road between its junctions with Trafalgar Road and High Street;
7) High Street between its junctions with Carisbrooke Road and Quay Street;
8) Quay Street for its entire length;
9) Sea Street between its junctions with Quay Street and Newport Quay;
10) The Quay for its entire length;
11) St James Street between its junction with Pyle Street and High Street;
12) Pyle Street between junctions with St James Street and Carisbrooke Road.
B) No person shall cause any vehicle to wait along 1) Trafalgar Road for its entire length; 2) Carisbrooke Road between its junctions with Trafalgar Road and High Street.
This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Newport Illuminated Carnival Procession and event. Alternative routes will be signposted locally.
