Cortachy - Menmuir - Brechin - Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting

What is happening?

TRAFFIC ORDER

On 25 August 2025, Angus Council made The Angus Council (C30 Cortachy - Menmuir - Brechin)
(Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2025, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that telecommunications works may be carried out. The Order will come into force on 03 September 2025 from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of nine days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicular traffic on the Cortachy to Brechin (C30) road from a point 200m west of its junction with the Kirkton of Menmuir to Edzell (C34) road westwards for a distance of 1.8km or thereby. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is westwards via the Cortachy to Brechin (C30), Forfar to Inverquharity (C29), Kirriemuir to Brechin (C31) and Kirkton of Menmuir to Careston (C33) roads.
