ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(DENBY DALE ROAD, WAKEFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 255) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to excavate on behalf of
Northern Powergrid, essential upgrade to infrastructure to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Denby Dale Road, Wakefield for approximately 280 metres opposite Raines House and Sainsbury’s car park, the lane coming away from the roundabout. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads
at their junctions the closed length of Denby Dale Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Denby Dale Road, Ings Road, Charlesworth Way & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 1st September 2025 at 08.00 hours to 12th September 2025 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(POTTER AVENUE, LUPSET)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 261) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for micro surfacing programme September 25 to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Potter Avenue, Lupset.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Potter Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 3rd September 2025 to 9th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(WOOLLEY LOW MOOR LANE, WOOLLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 262) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to install sub duct into existing fibre infrastructure as part of fibre to the home scheme to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Woolley Low Moor Lane, Woolley for approximately 160 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at
their junctions the closed length of Woolley Low Moor Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: High Street, Fishpond Lane, Stoney Lane, Wood Lane, Barnsley Road, New Road, High Street, Church Street, Woolley Edge Lane, Intake Lane, Stoney Lane, Fishpond Lane, High Street, Cliff Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 1st September 2025 at 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(WRENTHORPE ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 264) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for utility repair and maintenance works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Wrenthorpe Road, Wakefield between the junction of Bradford Road and the junction of Windsor Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Wrenthorpe Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Wrenthorpe Road, Bradford Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 29th August 2025 to 12th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(RADCLIFFE ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 265) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for verge management,
hardening & footway surfacing to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Radcliffe Road, Wakefield, full length. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Radcliffe Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Radcliffe Road, Townley Road, Waterton Road, Manor Haigh Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 1st September 2025 to 12th December 2025, road closed Monday to Friday 07.30 hours to 15.30 hours, open at all other times, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Pedestrian access maintained at all times, residents access maintained when safe to do so.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BACK LANE, WOOLLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 267) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for micro surfacing programme September 25 to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Back Lane, Woolley.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Back Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: New Road, High Street, Church Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 2nd September 2025 to 4th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(WOOLLEY MILL LANE, NOTTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 271) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for tree trimming/
felling on behalf of Northern Power Grid to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Woolley Mill Lane, Notton, from the junction of George Lane to outside Mill Farm. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Woolley Mill Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: George Lane, Barnsley Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 17th September 2025 between 09.00 hours and 16.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BIRKWOOD ROAD, NORMANTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 273) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for sewer re rounding to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Birkwood Road, Normanton for approximately 40 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Birkwood Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Birkwood Road, Ferry Lane, Nellie Spindler Drive, Neil Fox Way, Doncaster Road, Black Road, Wakefield Road, Normanton Bypass, Snydale Road, High Street, King Edward Street, Altofts Road, Station Road,
Lee Brig, High Green Road, Birkwood Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 07.30 hours on 15th September 2025 to 07.00 hours on 20th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(DEWSBURY ROAD, OSSETT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 274) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for utility repair and maintenance works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Dewsbury Road, Ossett at the roundabout between Dewsbury Road and Leeds Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Dewsbury Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Leeds Road, Ossett Bypass A638 (roundabout), Leeds Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 15th September 2025 to 10th October 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(PROSPECT AVENUE, NORMANTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 275) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to install additional drainage gullies/soakaway to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Prospect Avenue, Normanton from junction with Ashgap Lane, outside numbers 10 to 12 Prospect Avenue.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Prospect Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A dead end street.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 07.30 hours on 15th September 2025 to 15.00 hours on 26th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(ESKDALE ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 277) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to rectify defective
reinstatement to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Eskdale Road, Wakefield outside and opposite number 8 Eskdale Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Eskdale Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Grasmere Road, Keswick Drive, Rydal Drive & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours on 15th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(FOOTPATHS 27 & 29, HORBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 278) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for the rock face to be stabilzed to be carried out on or near Footpaths 27 & 29, Horbury, near Addingford Close, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpaths.
Alternative route for pedestrians: Addingford Close, Southfield Lane, Addingford Lane & vice versa.
The order comes into operation on 1st September 2025 to 12th December 2025.
(PETERSON ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 279) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds due to unsafe excavation adjacent to the highway, undermining the road to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Peterson Road, Wakefield one way closure towards the roundabout from Turton Street to the roundabout. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Peterson Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Peterson Road, Stanley Road, Jacobs Well Lane, Marshway.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 4th September 2025 to 3rd November 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
