What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(WANSFELL ROAD, AMBLESIDE)

(TEMPORARY NO LEFT TURN RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle, which is travelling in a westerly direction along Wansfell Road, Ambleside, from making a left turn onto the A593 Rothay Road.

A suitable alternative route for south bound vehicles will be signed and available via A593 Rothay Road, Kelsick Road, A591 Lake Road and A5075 Borrans Road.

The Order will come into operation on 8th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will be required for 3 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
