What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell
(York Crescent – Meyrick Road, West Bromwich)
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025
intends to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the footpath leading from York Crescent to Meyrick Road. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 19/09/2025 effective from 08/09/2025. Purpose – to facilitate access for high and low voltage electrical service works by Doocey Group on behalf of National Grid Electricity Distribution.

(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Salop Drive, which will be closed from the southern boundary of Beechcroft Care Home for approximately 30 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will not be signed as Salop Drive is not a through road. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 19/09/2025 effective from 08/09/2025 (9:30am - 3:30pm). (Temporary Road Closure, Right Turn Ban & Left Turn Ban) Order 2025
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Heath Lane, which will be closed from its junction with All Saints Way to its junction with Walsall Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will be signed for vehicles approaching via the A4041, A4031 & A41 via All Saints Way, The Expressway, Old Meeting Street, Church Lane. A second diversion route will be signed for vehicles approaching via the A34 via Birmingham Road, Broadway, West Bromwich Road, Walsall Road. A right turn ban will be in place at Newton Road at the junction of Heath Lane for the duration of the Heath Lane closure. A left turn ban will be in place at All Saints Way at the junction of Heath Lane for the duration of the Heath Lane closure. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 07/09/2025 effective from 06/09/2025 (8am - 6pm). Purpose – to facilitate access for remedial works by Comex 2000.
