What is happening?

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Chipping Norton, Market Street
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 1 September 2025
Coming into force: 8 September 2025
This Order is being introduced because of essential electrical works on behalf of SSEN works which are anticipated to take until 12 September 2025 to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Market Street outside No.21. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works. The alternative route for traffic is via Market Place, Horse Fair, Over Norton Road, Spring Street and Vice Versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16161/RMF)

Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 1 September 2025
Coming into force: 9 September 2025
This Order is being introduced because of gas works which are anticipated to be completed on 16 September 2025.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of The Leys outside property number 18. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via The Leys, Station Road, Worcester Road, West Street, Churchill Road, The Leys (and vice versa)
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16122 /RAG )

Coming into force: 26 August 2025
This Order is being introduced because of sewer repair works which are anticipated to be completed on 8 September 2025. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of The Leys outside property number 15. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Cross Leys – Lewis Road – Station Road.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16065 /RAG )
