The Borough of Warrington (Cromwell Avenue)
(24-Hour Clearway) Temporary Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & in accordance with Section 43 of The Road Traffic Act 1991 & Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 & all other enabling powers. The effect of which will be to introduce a 24-Hour Clearway where no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to stop or remain at “rest at any time” on Cromwell Ave in both directions between Sankey Way & the Canons Rd/Waterways Roundabout. The Order will be effective from 1st September 2025. The restrictions are for a period of up to 12 months. The restrictions are required due to works associated with the Peace Centre Redevelopment & to safeguard children on their journeys to & from the local school whilst the works are being carried out.

Birchwood Way, Birchwood (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Birchwood Way from its jct. with Moss Gate to the M62 Jct. 11. The Order will be effective from 1st September 2025. The closure is for a period of 24 weeks, between 9pm & 5am. The alternative route will be via Birchwood Way, Woolston Grange Ave, M6, M62 & vice versa. The closure is required to allow improvement works to be carried out to the M62 Jct. 11.

Cromwell Ave Roundabouts (Phase 3) (Prohibition of Driving & Clearway) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Cromwell Ave from the roundabout at Westbrook Cres./Ladywood Rd to the roundabout at Europa Blvd; Westbrook Cres from the roundabout at Cromwell Ave/Callands Rd to Cromwell Ave; Callands Rd from the roundabout at Cromwell Ave/Westbrook Cres for 50m; Westbrook Way from Cromwell Ave for 100m. The Order will be effective from 6th October 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 6 weeks, between 7pm & 1am, & will be carried out in 2 phases as follows: Phase 1 the Roundabout at Cromwell Ave/Westbrook Cres/Callands Rd; Phase 2 the Roundabout at Cromwell Ave/Westbrook Way. The alternative route will be via Europa Blvd, Westbrook Cres & vice versa. The restrictions are required to carry out highway improvement works.

Helmsley Cl (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Helmsley Cl from its jct. outside 15 Helmsley Cl to its jct. outside 17 Helmsley Cl. The Order will be effective from 3rd September 2025. The closure is for a period of 1 day, between 9am & 3pm. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to replace the transformer in their substation.

The Order will be effective from 25th August 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 17 weeks with the hours of operation as follows: Prohibition of Driving & Clearway between 7pm & 5am; Footway Closure for 24 hours.

Temporary diversion signs will be erected on site detailing the associated alternative routes for the duration of the restrictions. The restrictions are required to facilitate the Creamfields Music Festival.

The effect of which is as follows: Prohibition of Driving: Winwick Rd between its jct. with Orford Ln & its jct. with Longford St; Northway between its jct. with Long Ln & its jct. with Clough Ave; Longford St between its jct. with Winwick Rd & its jct. with Watkin St; Jockey St or its entire length. The Order will be effective from 22nd August 2025. The closures will be carried out in phases as follows: Longford St from 22nd August 2025 for 18 weeks; Jockey St from 22nd August 2025 for 10 weeks; Winwick Rd from 5th September 2025 for 4 weeks, between 7pm & 6am; Northway from 8th September 2025 for 8 weeks. The alternative routes will be as follows: Winwick Rd via Kerfoot St, Lovely Ln, Priestley St, Froghall Ln, Midland Way, Lythgoes Ln & vice versa; Northway via Clough Ave, Fisher Ave, Long Ln & vice versa; Longford St via Orford Ln, Winwick Rd & vice versa. The restrictions are for a period of 6 weeks, between 8:30am & 5:30pm. The alternative routes will be as follows:

The Borough of Warrington (Parkside Development) (Various Restrictions), Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 84 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & of all other enabling powers on 20th August 2025. The effect of the Order is as follows:
1. The Orders specified in Column 1 of Schedule 1 to this Notice are revoked to the extent as detailed in Column 2 of the said Schedule.
2. To prohibit any Motor Vehicle exceeding 7.5 tonnes to proceed along Parkside Rd (Unclassified) from its jct. with Golborne Rd to its jct. with A573 Parkside Link Rd West/ A573 Parkside Rd, except for the purpose of access.
3. To introduce a 20 miles per hour speed limit on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.
4. To introduce a 30 miles per hour speed limit on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice.
5. To introduce a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice.

The Borough of Warrington (Various Roads) (20 MPH Speed Limits) Consolidation Order 2024 is hereby further varied or amended in so far as it relates to Schedule 2 – 20 MPH Speed Limits by the addition of Winwick Ln Service Road for its entire length. The Order will be effective from 25th August 2025.
