What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –
SECTION 14
(HIGH STREET, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 256) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for plain line tamping works to improve track quality to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: High Street, Castleford for approximately 20 metres either side of the level crossing. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of High Street.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Lumley Street, A639, A6082, Methley Road, Wood Street, Albion Street & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 2nd September 2025 at 00.01 hours to 05.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FARM ROAD, FEATHERSTONE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 257) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for carriageway resurfacing to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Farm Road, Featherstone at the side of number 2 to the rear of number 31 Vicarage Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Farm Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 1st September 2025 at 07.30 hours to 15.30 hours on 5th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(COW LANE, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 263) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to change a BT pole to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Cow Lane, Knottingley for approximately 40 yards. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Cow Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Cow Lane, Marsh End, Fernley Green Road, Weeland Road, Lamb Inn Road, Racca Green & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 2nd September 2025 to 4th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(MANOR PARK AVENUE, PONTEFRACT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 266) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for gas mains replacement to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Manor Park Avenue, Pontefract, full length. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Manor Park Avenue.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Manor Park Avenue, Dulverton Way, Ferrybridge Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 2nd September 2025 to 12th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(ROPERGATE, PONTEFRACT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 272) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for new water supply connection to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Ropergate, Pontefract outside 12 Ropergate. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Ropergate.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: A645 Southgate, A639 Jubilee Way, A639, Stuart Road, A639. Warning Signs to be placed in opposite direction on Southgate. Car parking services are aware of works and advised parking on Valley Road is available.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 08.00 hours on 14th September 2025 to 06.00 hours on 15th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(BEANCROFT ROAD, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
& TEMPORARY LEFT TURN BAN)  ORDER (NO 276) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow for renewal of cover and frame to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Beancroft Road, Castleford as below:

Left turn ban – no left turn onto Middle Oxford Street.

DIVERSION: Beancroft Road, Temple Street, Nicholson Street, High Oxford Street, Middle Oxford Street, Lower Oxford Street, University Street, Cambridge Street, Beancroft Road.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 18th September 2025 at 08.00 hours to 19th September 2025 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible. Dated this 28th day of August 2025
