Herefordshire - Public Path Diversion Order affecting Public Rights of Way

What is happening?

Highways Act 1980 Section 119, Herefordshire Council, Public Footpaths SM14 and SM15 (Parts) St. Margarets, Public Path Diversion Order 2025

The above order made on 14th August, 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert those lengths of footpath as follows:

The existing routes of footpath SM14 running from OS Grid Reference SO 3490 3417 to OS Grid Reference SO 3493 3427 and footpath SM15 running from OS Grid Reference SO 3492 3420 to OS Grid Reference SO 3485 3430.

Alternative footpaths will be created, being 2 metres in width, as follows:

The proposed new routes of footpath SM14 running from OS Grid Reference SO 3493 3416 to OS Grid Reference SO 3493 3427 and footpath SM15 running from OS Grid Reference SO 3493 3427 to OS Grid Reference SO 3485 3430.

Representations or objections to the order must be made in writing to Public Rights of Way Manager, Herefordshire Council, Plough Lane, Hereford, HR4 0LE, or email to PROW@herefordshire.gov.uk, quoting reference PROW/D564 and stating your reasons, to be received not later than 19th September, 2025. Your details may be made available to third parties.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State, Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
