Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (As amended), has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 24 February 2026
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 3, and Footpath 4 Weeley in the District of Tendring As below

(Footpath 34, Fordham) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 34, Fordham in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Footpath 36 Southwest for approximately 450 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 31 August 2025 to 30 December 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while plant transits over the footpath to complete improvements to the flood plain wetland.
Alternative route: Footpath 36 and then a permissive pathway and track owned by the Woodland Trust
The Order will come into effect on 31 August 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Suspension of One Way) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close the following lengths of roads in the City of Colchester:

To temporarily suspend the existing one-way restriction on Northgate Street, Colchester between its junction with West Stockwell Street and St Peters Street.
‘The Colchester Borough (East and West Stockwell Streets, Maidenburgh Street and Northgate Street) (One Way, etc) Order 1978 is hereby temporarily suspended insofar as it relates to the one-way restriction on Northgate Street only. All other restrictions will remain in place.
The restrictions are scheduled to commence between 14 August 2025 and 23 August 2025 between the hours of 12pm midday to 1am or where appropriate signs are showing, weather permitting and are required for the safety of the public while special events takes place at Castle Park.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The Order will come into operation on the 14 August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Argents Lane, West Bergholt/Fordham Heath in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Chitts Hill to its junction with Heath Road a distance of approximately 1065m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2386875 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Chitts Hill, Halstead Road, A1124 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hungerdown Lane, Lawford/Ardleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hungerdown Lane, Lawford/Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 205m south west of its junction with Tile Barn Lane for a distance of approximately 380m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th September 2025 for 1 day or where stated on a valid permit (EC30001742712 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree trimming works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Little Bromley Road, Home Farm Lane, Harwich Road, Tile Barn Lane and vice versa (with access only into Tile Barn Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hutchinson Close, Tiptree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hutchinson Close, Tiptree in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 90m south east then north east of its junction with Gladstone Road for a distance of approximately 15m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166006730/FH – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fire hydrant repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Malting Green Road, Layer-de-la-Haye in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Hawfinch Road for a distance of approximately 55m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th September 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30038943719 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Abberton Road, Layer Road, Oxley Hill, Layer Road, Peldon Road, Malting Road, Church Road, Peldon Road, Maldon Road, B1026 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Manningtree Road, Dedham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Manningtree Road, Dedham in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Saunders Field for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MT00110276929 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while boundary box repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Manningtree Road, Crown Street, Castle Hill, The Heath, Long Road, East, Jupes Hill, Manningtree Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Lane, Langenhoe in the City of Colchester, from its junction with B1025 Mersea Road to its junction with Abberton Road a distance of approximately 1025m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2384969 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repairs works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Andrews Avenue, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 600m south east of its junction with Saint Davids Close for a distance of approximately 25m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 29 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20153087035 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway and cycleway upgrade works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Avenue, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Lexden Road to its junction with Queens Road a distance of approximately 205m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2386044 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Streetworks No.1) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester, as detailed in the Schedule.
The works are scheduled to commence after 28th August 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while micro ducting works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
