What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
B1342 STATION ROAD BELFORD
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of B1342 Station Road Belford for a distance of 20 metres either side of the level crossing in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 19th September 2025 until the 28th September 2025.
It is expected the road will only be closed on the following dates:
19th September 2025 until the 22nd September 2025 and that it will be closed at all times during this period.
27th September 2025 until the 28th September 2025 between the hours of 21:00 until 10:00 during this period.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force is via the B1342, A1, C60, C59, B1342 and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Chevron Traffic Management for tandem tamping works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
