PUBLIC NOTICE
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14(1)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
STANCLIFFE ROAD, BEDFORD
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Stancliffe Road, Bedford adj 45.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate new water supply and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 00:00 to 23:59 hours from 1st September 2025 to 3rd September 2025
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Putnoe Lane, Chiltern Avenue, Pentland Rise, Stancliffe Road.
The reverse route applies.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 1st September 2025, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Anglian Water Tel: 08457 145 145
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14(1)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
HARROWDEN ROAD SERVICE ROAD, BEDFORD
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, from proceeding along the length of Harrowden Road Service Road, Bedford Between Worcester Road and 151.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate the removal of concrete section, reconstruction of carriageway, drainage works, carriageway resurfacing, civils and lining and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 1st September 2025 to 26th September 2025
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Harrowden Road Service Road, Duchess Road, Harrowden Road.
The reverse route applies.

(AMENDMENT NO.114) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 7th August 2025 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:
A King Edward Road, Bedford
(i) On both sides, extending from its junction with Queen Alexandra Road for a distance of approx. 10 metres in an easterly direction.
(ii) On both sides, extending from its junction with Barker’s Lane for a distance of approx. 10 metres in a westerly direction.
B Queen Alexandra Road, Bedford
(i) On its eastern kerb, extending from the centre of King Edward Road for a distance of approx. 10 metres in both a northerly and southerly direction.
C Barkers Lane, Bedford
(i) On its western kerb, extending from the centre of King Edward Road for a distance of approx. 10 metres in both a northerly and southerly direction.
Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 11th August 2025 or as soon as practicable after this date.

High Court Challenge: Any person who desires to question the validity of this Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date of this Notice, make application for that purpose to the High Court.

(PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURNS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 7th August 2025 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce a Prohibition of Right Turns on Goldington Road, Bedford, to prevent vehicles turning right from Dudley Street onto Goldington Road, Bedford.
Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 11th August 2025 or as soon as practicable after this date.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 7th August 2025 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic
Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:
A Brancker Avenue, Shortstown
(i) Around the turning head at its western end, commencing on its southern side, extending from a point approx. 12 metres west of the boundary between nos. 1 and 3 Brancker Avenue, continuing in a westerly, then northerly and then easterly (clockwise) direction, ending on its northern side opposite the start point.
B Thomson Avenue, Shortstown
Around the turning head at its western end, commencing on its northern side, extending from the projected western boundary of no. 2, continuing in a westerly, then southerly and then easterly (anti-clockwise) direction, ending on its southern side opposite the start point.
Date of Operation: This Order will come into force on 11th August 2025 or as soon as practicable after this date.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL
WHITE LANE, YELNOW LANE AND PART OF FORTY FOOT LANE
(BYWAYS OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Bedford Borough Council on 18th August 2023, extended on 16th February 2024, 16th August 2024,14th February 2025 and 8th July 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit All users from proceeding along the following lengths of byway for a period of one year:
WHITE LANE (part of Odell BOAT No 2): from its junction with Odell Road, Harrold at OS GRSP 95115822 for approx 1540m to its junction with Yelnow Lane at OSGR SP 9522-5958.
YELNOW LANE (Odell BOAT No 4): from its junction with White Lane at OSGR SP9526-5968 for approx 2830m to the UC298 Yelnow Lane, Sharnbrook at OSGR SP 9770-5943.
FORTY FOOT LANE (1) (part of Odell BOAT No 34) from its junction with the C15 at OSGR SP9321-5966 for approx 1330m to Forty Acre Wood at OSGR SP 9441-6018 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 23rd August 2026.
This temporary closure is required to prevent damage to the surface of the lane. The closure will continue from Sunday 24th August 2025 for up to one year.
There is no alternative route for users while the closure is in operation.
The Order will come into operation on 24th August 2025 for a period not exceeding one year or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the byways have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within one year the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
