What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Hyde Lane, The Salings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hyde Lane, The Salings in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 75m north east of its junction with Bardfield Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th September 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166234882 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cover replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via B1053, B1057, Brook Street, Braintree Road, Bardfield Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Noakes Farm Road, Terling)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Noakes Farm Road, Terling in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Rolls Farm Lane to its junction with Noakes Lane a distance of approximately 1225m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2387017 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching and post renewal works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Rolls Farm Lane, Terling Hall Road, Church Road, The Street, Owls Hill, Braintree Road, Fuller Street, Boreham Road, Noakes Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rayne Road, Braintree & Bocking)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rayne Road, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Francis Road for a distance of approximately 50m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th September 2025 for 2 nights (20:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EC30034947615 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Pods Brook Road, A120, Cressing Road, Millennium Way, Chapel Hill, Lakes Road, Manor Street, Trinovantian Way, Railway Street, South Street, St Michaels Road, High Street, and Pierfitt Way.

The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temple Lane, Silver End)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Temple Lane, Silver End in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Boars Tye Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a north westerly then south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 (19:30–05:00) for 1 night, or where stated on a valid permit (MG07274760-CTM-SC-POLE – 02 (UK) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole installation works are undertaken by 02 (UK) Limited.

An alternative route is available via Temple Lane, Boars Tye Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Church Hill, Finchingfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Hill, Finchingfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with The Pightle for a distance of approximately 65m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 1 night (21:00–06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (BC00809AUGEAXPM852 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via B1053, A131, A1017, B1054, B1057, and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Guithavon Street, Witham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

& (Bridge Street, Newland Street, Witham)

(Temporary Suspension of Weight Restriction) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Guithavon Street, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 65m in a south easterly direction.

  2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5 Tonne weight restriction in that length of Bridge Street/Newland Street, Witham in the District of Braintree, from the junction with Spinks Lane to the junction with Maldon Road, as detailed in ‘The Essex County Council (Bridge Street & Newlands Street, Witham) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2009’ for the duration of the above closure only.

The closure/suspension is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001425095 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

(Marlborough Road, Braintree & Bocking)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Marlborough Road, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Coggeshall Road for a distance of approximately 25m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th September 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC112-MDUE-V9033-2 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Coggeshall Road, Mountbatten Road, Marlborough Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rectory Lane, Rivenhall) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rectory Lane, Rivenhall in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 155m south east of its junction with Rickstones Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013333268 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Rickstones Road, Forest Road and vice versa (with access only into Rectory Lane).

The Order came into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rye Mill Lane, Feering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rye Mill Lane, Feering in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Sherwood Drive for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th September 2025 (22:00–05:00) for 2 nights, or where stated on a valid permit (KL721LTN1-42-62-060925 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while maintenance works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

No diversion route is available.

The Order came into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(School Road, Rayne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Road, Rayne in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 35m north east of the junction with Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03063511425 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter exchange works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Gore Road, The Street, Dunmow Road, Braintree Road, Watch House Green, Rayne Road, Frenches Green Road, Crix Green Road, Bartholomew Green Lane and vice versa (with access only into School Road, School Lane, School Road and New Road).

The Order came into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(The Grove, Witham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Grove, Witham in the District of Braintree, from the junction with Pasture Road (Roundabout) to the junction with Barwell Way (Roundabout) a distance of approximately 190m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 26 days or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001409575 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Newland Street, Maldon Road, The Grove and vice versa (with access only into The Grove from Newland Street).

The Order came into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Water Lane, Stisted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Water Lane, Stisted in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 25m north west of its junction with Milles Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th September 2025 for 1 night (19:00–06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03064829852 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter exchange works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via The Street, Kings Lane, A120 and vice versa (with access only into Bridge Hall Road, and Water Lane).

The Order came into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
