(Fortune of War Footbridge, Basildon) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Fortune of War Footbridge over A127 Southend Arterial Road in the Borough of Basildon.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 25 August 2025 to 03 October 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footbridge refurbishment works are undertaken.
Alternative route: Willowfield, High Road North and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 25 August 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Bonnygate, Fryerns) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bonnygate, Fryerns in the Borough of Basildon, form a point approximately 30m north east of its junction with Curling Tye for a distance of approximately 55m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411002WG4L6N9Z – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting and spine cabling works works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Bonnygate, Curling Tye, The Hatherley and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Oak Road, Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Oak Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Furtherwick Road to its end a distance of approximately 115m.
To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 14th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2389811 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage investigation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Queensmere, Thundersley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of road in the Borough of Castle Point as specified in the schedule to this Order.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 28th August 2025; exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

(Watery Lane, Rawreth/Rayleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Watery Lane, Rawreth/Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from the junction of Hullbridge Road to the junction of Highlands Road a distance of approximately 975m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2390517 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while jetting and ditching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Hullbridge Road, Rawreth Lane, Chelmsford Road, Beeches Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Kennel Lane, Great Burstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Noak Hill Road, Great Burstead) (Temporary Introduction of 30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Kennel Lane, Great Burstead in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Noak Hill Road Roundabout for a distance of approximately 160m in a south easterly direction.
To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of Noak Hill Road, Great Burstead in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 125m north east of its junction with Laindon Common Road for a distance of approximately 165m in both directions.
The closure/restriction are scheduled to commence on 29th August 2025 for 47 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40040733638/EP4001279028 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction are required for the safety of the public and workforce while road and footway construction works are undertaken by GTM.
An alternative route is available via Noak Hill Road Roundabout, A129, A176, Hickersts Lane and vice versa (with access only into Kennel Lane).

(Kennel Lane, Great Burstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Noak Hill Road, Great Burstead) (Temporary Introduction of 30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Kennel Lane, Great Burstead in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Noak Hill Road Roundabout for a distance of approximately 160m in a south easterly direction.
To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of Noak Hill Road, Great Burstead in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 125m north east of its junction with Laindon Common Road for a distance of approximately 165m in both directions.
The closure/restriction are scheduled to commence on 29th August 2025 for 47 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40040733638/EP4001279028 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction are required for the safety of the public and workforce while road and footway construction works are undertaken by GTM.

(New Century Road, Laindon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of New Century Road, Laindon in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 55m west of its junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd September 2025 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30064881159 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Cumberland Drive, Durham Road, High Road.
Railway Approach, Worthing Road, High Road.
The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Pattiswick Square, Fryerns) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Pattiswick Square, Fryerns in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Goldhanger Cross to its junction with Pattiswick Corner a distance of approximately 80m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388210 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway patching and bollard repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Pattiswick Square, The Fremnells and vice versa.

(Southend Arterial Road, Dunton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road, Dunton in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with High Road North for a distance of approximately 310m in an easterly direction.
To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road, Dunton in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 580m west of its junction with Southend Arterial Road Slip Road From Upper Mayne To A127 Westbound for a distance of approximately 280m in a westerly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 25th August 2025 for 24 nights (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20157868817 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while footbridge refurbishment works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Westerland Avenue, Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Westerland Avenue, Canvey Island in the Borough Castle Point, from its junction with Yamburg Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to continue from on 18th August 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03766057827/2 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while collapsed sewer repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Baardwyk Avenue, High Street, Yamburg Road and vice versa (with access only into Westerland Avenue).
The Order came into effect on 18th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
