What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(NOOK LANE, AMBLESIDE AND CRAG BROW, WINDERMERE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the;

(i) Nook Lane, Ambleside, from its junction with the Belle Vue Lane, extending in a southerly direction for a distance of approx. 60m. Alternative Route: via Belle Vue Lane, Sweden Bridge Lane, Kirkstone Road, Smithey Brow and the unrestricted section of Nook Lane. Duration: From 8th September 2025 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/15488)

(ii) Crag Brow, Windermere, from its junction with the Helm Road, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 80m. Alternative Route: via A592 Rayrigg Road, A591 Ambleside Road, A5074 Main Road & Lake Road. Duration: From 11th September 2025 for approx. 1 night during the hours of 1800 and 2300 (Ref: TTROW/14799)

The Order will come into operation on 8th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
