What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE

COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION

ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY

PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC

PART OF SPALDINGTON ROAD,

SPALDINGTON

Notice is hereby given that The East Riding of

Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days

from the date of this notice to make an Order, the

effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from

proceeding along part of Spaldington Road,

Spaldington from its junction with Willitoft Road

westbound for a distance of approximately 200 metres

commencing 24 September 2025 until 26

September 2025 for the purpose of installing

ducting and chambers for the new BDUK fibre

network on behalf of Quickline Communications

work. The road closure is necessary to enable the

works to be carried out in a manner consistent with

ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for

18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be

completed within 3 days. The alternative route for

traffic affected by the road closure will be via:

Spaldington Road, Spaldington Water Tower Layby,

A614 Holme Road, A614 Thorpe Road, A614 Hull

Road Roundabout, B1230 Hull Road, B1230 Flatgate,

B1228 Station Road, B1228 Wood Lane, Wressle CP,

Howden CP, Spaldington CP, Eastrington CP,

Howdenshire Ward, Howden Ward The diversion

route will be signed at the time of closure. The road

will be closed to all through traffic but access will be

maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and

pedestrians.
