What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Beechwood Avenue, Maple Way & Orchard Avenue, Melbourn

Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1466

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Beechwood Avenue, Maple Way & Orchard Avenue, Melbourn as lies between Water Lane & New Road; Beechwood Avenue & Orchard Road; Nos. 52 & 56 respectively.

The alternative route for vehicles is via New Rd; Orchard Rd; Water Ln & vice versa; Beechwood Ave; Water Ln; Orchard Rd & vice versa; New Rd; Beechwood Ave; Water Ln & vice versa respectively. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water mains relaying & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 1/9/2025 & continue until these works have finished or on the 28/2/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1/9 & 9/11/2025.

Melbourn Bypass A10, Melbourn Temporary 40mph Speed Limit – Order 2025-1494

Is to impose a 40mph speed limit along Melbourn Bypass A10, Melbourn as lies between Melbourn Road Roundabout & Melbourn Footpath 4. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above-mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical duct installation & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 6/9/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 5/3/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6/9 & 16/9/25.

High Street, Fowlmere Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1500

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Fowlmere as lies between The Way & Lynch Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1368; A505; A10; B1368 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate disconnection of water supply & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 30/9/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 29/3/2027 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 30/9 & 2/10/25.

Barrington Road & Station Road, Shepreth Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1508

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Barrington Road & Station Road, Shepreth as lies between No.2 & Dowcars Close. The alternative route for vehicles is via Meldreth Rd; Malton Ln, Meldreth; Malton Rd; North End; A10; Foxton Rd; Barrington; Shepreth Rd; Barrington Rd; High St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 17/9/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 17/1/26 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 17/9 & 25/9/25.

North Brook End, Steeple Morden Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1534

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along North Brook End, Steeple Morden as lies between No.19 & Trap Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via South End; Steeple Morden Rd; New Rd; Fox Hill Rd; Trap Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 8/9/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 7/3/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8/9 & 12/9/25.

South Street, Meeting Lane & Bassingbourn Road, Litlington Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1562

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along South Street, Meeting Lane & Bassingbourn Road, Litlington as lies between Malting Lane & Bassingbourn Road; St Peters Hill & Bassingbourn Road; No.11 & South Street respectively. The alternative route for vehicles is via Bassingbourn Rd; Brook Rd, Bassingbourn Cum Kneesworth; High St; The Causeway; A1198; A505; Royston Rd, Litlington & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate leaking water pipe repairs & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 1/9/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 28/2/27 whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1/9 & 3/9/25.

New Road, Melbourn Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1608

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along New Road, Melbourn as lies between Victoria Way & Rosemary Place. The alternative route for vehicles is via High St; Royston Rd; A10; A505; New Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate S278 sewer connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 8/9/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 7/3/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8/9 & 26/9/25.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above Orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with the works, for which the Orders are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service or Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting in accordance with the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
