ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U2061 Wish Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Wish Road – from the junction with A259 South Street to the junction with U2056 Blackwater Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via U2056 Blackwater Road – U2063 Cornfield Terrace – A259 South Street and southbound via A259 South Street – U2060 Hardwick Road – U2056 Blackwater Road.
The Order commences 27 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 27 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2152 Ceylon Place, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2
To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Ceylon Place – from the junction with U2148 Bourne Street to the junction with A259 Seaside.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2148 Bourne Street – A259 Seaside Road, Seaside and vice versa.
The Order commences 28 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 August and 10 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 East Dean Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow MBNL to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
East Dean Road – from the junction with U2032 Upland Road to the junction with U2032 Pashley Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 East Dean Road, Church Street, High Street, The Goffs – A2270 Upperton Road, Willingdon Road, Eastbourne Road – A27(T) Lewes Road, Eastbourne Road – A26(T) Newhaven Road, Beddingham Road, New Road – A26 New Road – A259 Drove Road, The Drove, Seaford Road, Newhaven Road, Buckle bypass, Claremont Road, Station Approach, Clinton Place, Sutton Park Road, Sutton Road, Eastbourne Road, East Dean Road, Seaford Road, Friston Hill, Eastbourne Road, East Dean Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 19 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (C708 Hankham Hall Road, Westham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hankham Hall Road – from the junction with U7100 Peelings Lane to the junction with U7101 Foords Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C708 Hankham Hall Road, Hankham Street, Glynleigh Road – B2104 Hailsham Road – B2247 Dittons Road – C712 Rattle Road – C708 Gallows Lane and vice versa. The Order commences 8 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 12 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2104 Langney Rise, Eastbourne)(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit,
Temporary Prohibition of Right Turn & Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily bring into force the following restrictions:-
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Langney Rise – from the junction with B2104 Hide Hollow roundabout to the junction with U2218 Faversham Road.
Restriction anticipated to be in place between 15 September and 19 October 2025.
Temporary Prohibition of Right Turn
Langney Rise – at the entrance to Langney Shopping Centre Access Road.
Restriction anticipated to be in place between 15 September and 19 October 2025.
Temporary Road Closure
Langney Rise – from the junction with B2104 Hide Hollow roundabout to the junction with U2218 Faversham Road.
Diversion northbound via A259 Langney roundabout, St Anthonys Avenue, Seaside, Seaside roundabout – A2290 Lottbridge Drove, Birch roundabout, Lottbridge Drove – A22 Lottbridge roundabout, Highfield Link, Shinewater roundabout – B2191 Willingdon Drove – B2104 Willingdon roundabout, Friday Street, Hide Hollow roundabout & southbound via B2104 Hide Hollow roundabout, Friday Street, Willingdon roundabout – B2191 Willingdon Drove – A22 Shinewater roundabout, Highfield Link – A2290 Highfield Link – A22 Lottbridge roundabout – A2290 Lottbridge Drove, Birch roundabout, Lottbridge Drove – A259 Seaside roundabout, Seaside, St Anthony’s Avenue, Langney roundabout.
Restriction anticipated to be in place: Between 8 and 14 September 2025
Between 20 and 25 October 2025
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 8 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the restrictions will be in place as detailed above.
