What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

The East Sussex (B2193 Station Street, Lewes) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Station Street – from the junction with B2193 Station Road to the junction with A277 High Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2193 Station Road, Priory Street, Southover High Street – C7 Bell Lane, Winterbourne Hollow – A277 Western Road, High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs between 8 and 12 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C344 West End, Herstmonceux)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Alexander Construction Services LTD to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

West End – from the junction with A271 Hailsham Road to the junction with U7742 The Ridgeway.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C344 West End, Stunts Green – C15 Cowbeech Hill, Featherbed Lane – A271 Amberstone, New Road, Hailsham Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 26 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7500 Millwood Lane, Maresfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Millwood Lane – from the junction with U7501 Cobdown Lane to the junction with U7500 Millwood Close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7500 Underhill – C33 Straight Half Mile, High Street, London Road – A26 Budletts roundabout – A272 London Road, Budletts Lane – U7500 Millwood Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 8 and 9 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Summer Hill/Main Road/Curtains Hill/The Toll/Pound Green/High Street/Station Road/Lephams Bridge Road/ Buxted Road/Budletts Lane/London Road – from the junction with Budletts roundabout to the junction with A267 Mayfield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Mayfield Road, Wellbrook Hill, Wellbrook, Mayfield bypass, Tunbridge Wells Road, Argos Hill, Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road, Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road, Frant Green Road, Frant Road – C70 Bunny Lane – A26 Eridge Road, Beacon Road, Uckfield Road, Five Ash Down, Mill Pond Road, Budletts roundabout and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 8 and 10 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
