Westcotes Drive - No Waiting Prohibitions Parking Consolidation Order

What is happening?

LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL 
(WESTCOTES DRIVE, LEICESTER) (NO WAITING PROHIBITIONS) (PARKING CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2025 AMENDMENT NO.###) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 (TMP1005)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council (“the Council”) proposes to an Orders under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 5, and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to makes the following Order: -

The effects of the proposed Orders, will be:
• Introduce additional no waiting prohibition on all days at all times on parts of Westcotes Drive.
• Ashleigh Road amend parking bays so they match parking bays that are marked on street.
• To revoke certain existing prohibitions and restrictions.

A COPY of the proposed Order, the relevant plan, the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen at Leicester City Council’s website: leicester.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders or https://leicester. traffweb.app/traffweb/2/PublicConsultation.

OBJECTIONS to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and specify the grounds on which they are made to Traffic Orders Team, Leicester City Council, City Hall, Charles Street, Leicester LE1 1FZ or email TROteam@ leicester.gov.uk and mark for the attention of Chris Middleton. Any objections stating grounds on which they are made and quoting ref. ‘TMP1005- Parking’ & must be received by Tuesday 17th September 2025.

The proposals are to prevent parking too close to the junction & to ensure that access is maintained for dropped kerb accesses close to the junction. At the same time the City Council is proposing an amendment to the map schedules for Ashleigh Road so that they match the parking bays that are marked on street. The formal reason for the proposal is for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
