What is happening?

BURY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(CONWAY CLOSE, RAMSBOTTOM)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Conway Close, Ramsbottom – between Tanners Street & Earl Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate Electricity Northwest works

There will be no alternate route as it is a no through road

The Order comes into operation on 28/08/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 2 weeks.

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (UN-NAMED ROAD LEADING TO WARD DRIVE & PRESTWICH CRICKET, TENNIS & BOWLING CLUB, PRESTWICH) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council has made the above named Order under sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers.

The effect of the Order will be the Introduction of No waiting at any time

Un-named road at the side of No.8 Heys Road, Prestwich leading to Ward Drive & Prestwich Cricket, Tennis & Bowling Club

Both sides from a point 25m south east of the southerly kerbline of Heys Road in a south easterly direction (including the edge of carriageway of the turning circle of the cul-de-sac) to a point 15 metres south east of the southerly kerbline of Ward Drive cul-de-sac end

A copy of the Order (including the exemptions contained in it) which comes into operation on 21st August 2025 and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected at the Town Hall Reception, Knowsley Street, Bury BL9 0SW during normal office hours.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks of 21st August 2025 apply to the High Court for the purpose.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough has made the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as follows:

20 mph speed limit applying to the following streets:

A copy of the Order which comes into operation on Monday 3rd November 2025, a plan showing the roads and areas affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be requested by email at traffic.calming@bury.gov.uk quoting reference TM23/18/425

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks of 3rd November 2025 apply to the High Court for that purpose. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.
