What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (INTERGRATED TRANSPORT BLOCK, HAZEL GROVE) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 21 August 2025 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and the Road Traffic Act 1991 which will come into operation on the 22 August 2025. The effect of the Order will be to introduce 20MPH Speed Limit at at Wensley Drive, Malton Drive, Elton Drive, Hartington Drive, Longnor Road, Bradwell Road, Ripley Close, Matlock Drive, Sheldon Road, Sudbury Road, Belvoir Avenue and Winsfield Road both directions for their entire length.
A copy of the Order, map and statement of the reasons for making the Order, may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services Town Hall Stockport SK1 3XE. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
