What is happening?

GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF C47 LEY LANE
(WESTBURY ON SEVERN PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C47 Ley Lane from its junction with Ley Level Crossing for a distance of approximately 775 metres across the Ley Level Crossing.

The reason for the said closure is for annual barrier maintenance works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 23:00hrs on 2nd September 2025 until 05:00hrs on 3rd September 2025 or until the works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.

Alternative Route – As signed on site. Emergency access will be maintained. Pedestrian access to premises on or next to the road will not be maintained due to safety reasons.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 400008 HANLEY LANE
(TIDENHAM PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400008 Hanley Lane Road from its junction with Boughspring Lane to its junction with the A48 junction at Woolaston Grange to junction with Hanley Lane for a distance of approximately 125 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of Severn Trent Water

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 4113 HEYWOOD ROAD
(CINDERFORD TOWN) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 4113 Heywood Road from its junction with High Street outside of ‘the entrance to Heywood Road Car Park’ for a distance of approximately 63 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works to supply EV Chargers

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C46 ROAD FROM HAYDEN FARM TO JUNCTION WITH STRAND LANE
(WESTBURY ON SEVERN PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C46 Road from Hayden Farm to the junction with Strand Lane from outside of the property known as ‘Cleeve Bungalow’ for a distance of approximately 150 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for drainage works.

There will be no waiting permitted throughout the duration of the said works.The said road is expected to be closed from 4th September 2025 to 5th September 2025 or until the said works have been completed. (MITCHELDEAN PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C33 Bradley Court from outside of the property known as ‘Bradley Court Farm to outside of the property known as Forest Court Nursing Home’ for a distance of approximately 500 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for drainage works.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C353 Market Street/The Triangle Road from its junction with Foundary Road to its junction with the High Street for a distance of approximately 150 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for underground cable works

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C357 Road from its junction with Almhouse Road to the junction with Rookery Lane and from its junction with Almshouse Road to its junction with Laundry Lane for a distance of approximately 280 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of Severn Trent Water

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C355 NEW ROAD
(AWRE PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C355 New Road from its junction with Furnace Valley to its junction with Pitching Green for a distance of approximately 913 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for excavation works to rectify failing road crossings.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE A48 FROM JUNCTION WITH BLAISDON ROAD TO JUNCTION WITH FLAXLEY ROAD
(WESTBURY ON SEVERN PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
PLEASE NOTE THIS NOTICE IS MADE IN ADDITION TO THE NOTICE ISSUED 23RD JULY 2025
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the A48 Road from its junction with Blaisdon Road to the junction with Flaxley Road, Jordan Hill for a distance of approximately 495 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for the safe use of a Mobile Elevated Work Platform to replace chevron plates on a Railway Bridge.

The said road was previously closed from 22:00hrs on 28th July 2025 until 06:00hrs on 29th July 2025. It was not possible to complete the works on those dates and therefore the road will be closed again from 22:00hrs on 3rd September 2025 to 06:00hrs on 4th September 2025 or until the works have been completed.
