ROCHESTER (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.25) ORDER 2025

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL Argyle Close, Beresford Avenue, Borstal Road, Castle Avenue, Goddings Drive, Grange Way, Maidstone Road, Onslow Road, Orion Road, Pattens Lane,  Warren Wood Road

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council proposes to make the above-mentioned order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The general effect of the Amendment order will be to introduce or amend lengths of No Waiting (double yellow lines except where otherwise stated) in roads within Rochester as detailed:

1) Argyle Close – Both sides, a 5-metre (m) extension north-westwards from Wilson Ave;
2) Beresford Avenue – North side, (a) 12.4m westwards from the Scout hut access road (front of No.24), (b) 10.7m eastwards from the Scout hut access road (front of No.36);

3) Borstal Road – North-west side, (a) from 21.6m south-west of The Graylings to 7.8m north-east of that junction, (b) from 11m south-west of Goddings Drive (up to No.124) to 10m north-east of that junction;

4) Castle Avenue – 9.5m loading bay to operate 7am – 7pm daily, adjacent No.126 Delce Road between entrance marking and double yellow lines;

5)  Goddings Drive – (a) South side, 18.2m south-westwards round the bend from Borstal Road, (b) North side, 8.7m westwards from Borstal Road to the dropped kerb;

6) Grange Way – both sides from the existing restriction south-west of Kings Avenue for 56m and 60.6m, ending by No.1 Crossway where road widens out;

7) Maidstone Road – formal removal of 1 hour limited waiting outside Nos. 177-183 (former bathroom showroom premises);

8) Onslow Road – (a) North side, 10m in front of the access road to the rear of No.146 City Way; (b) North-east side, 20.4m on the corner by No.2, (c) South-west side, 23.6m on the corner adjacent to No.2;

9) Orion Road – (a) West side, an 8.1m length northwards from Warren Wood Road, (b) East side, 7.7m northwards from Warren Wood Road;

10) Pattens Lane – North-east side, 67.5m between the existing restriction opposite Golding Close to the existing restriction opposite No.74;

11) Warren Wood Road – North side, 12.9m westwards and 13.7m eastwards of Orion Road.

Any objections or other representations about the proposed order should be sent in writing by email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk or by post to Parking Design Team at the address specified in the paragraph below by Friday, 19 September 2025 stating name, address and the grounds for objection or support.

Copies of the order, plans and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the order can be inspected at Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except for public holidays. Electronic copies of the documents can be requested by email to TROconsult@medway.gov. uk on the understanding that requests may take up to five working days to be completed.

STROOD (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.22) ORDER 2025

NOTICE OF MAKING Berwick Way access, Chestnut Road, Darnley Road, Enterprise Close, Galahad Avenue, Hawthorn Road, Hilltop Road, Holly Road, Hollywood Lane, Jarrett Avenue, Marden Road, Miller Way, Povey Avenue, Rolvenden Road

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 26 August 2025 made the abovementioned order under sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

The general effect of the Amendment order, which comes into operation on 22 September 2025, will be to introduce lengths of No Waiting (double yellow lines) in roads within Strood and Wainscott as detailed:

1)  Berwick Way (access road to landfill) – (a) North-west side of the on-slip, 50.2m on the corner from the private section up to Berwick Way, (b) South-east side, 34.1m adjacent to the centre triangle up to Berwick Way on-slip, (c) North side, 38.1m adjacent to the centre triangle from Berwick Way off-slip, (d) South side of the off-slip, 68.6m on the corner from Berwick Way to the private section;

2) Chestnut Rd – (a) West side, 54m from the northern boundary of No.4 northwards to the junction of Hawthorn Rd, (b) East side, 7.4m southwards from the junction of Hawthorn Rd;

3) Darnley Road – South-east side, a 16.5m extension outside Nos.201-197 to the bus stop clearway;

4) Enterprise Close – (a) South-east and east sides, 106.4m from the existing restriction south-west from Anthonys Way to those by Keel Court, (b) South-west side, 23m on the corner outside Talisman Group premises, opposite Keel Court;

5) Galahad Avenue – (a) North-west side, an 11.9m extension south-westwards from Elaine Avenue, (b) South-east side, 45.1m south-westwards from Elaine Avenue up to the parking bay opposite No.6;

6) Hawthorn Road - South side, 7.3m westwards and 7.4m eastwards from Chestnut Road;

7) Hilltop Road – North-east side, 7.2m north-westwards and 14.6m south-eastwards from Marden Road past No.31’s dropped kerb;

8) Holly Road – East side, 4.6m in front of the access road between Nos.27 & 29;

9) Hollywood Lane – South-east side, 20m south-westwards and 9.2m north-eastwards of Povey Ave;

10) Jarrett Avenue – (a) South-west side,14.3m north-westwards from Rolvenden Road (adjacent No.2) and 8.4m south-eastwards from that junction (outside No.51 Jarrett Ave),   (b) North-east side, 11m north-westwards from Miller Way (partly outside No.70) and 9.9m south-eastwards from that junction (partly outside No.68);

11) Marden Road – (a) North-west side, 9.1m north-eastwards from Hilltop Road,  (b) South-east side, 8.3m north-eastwards from that junction;

12) Miller Way – (a) North-west side, 7.7m north-eastwards from Jarrett Avenue,  (b) South-east side, 8.6m north-eastwards from that junction;

13) Povey Avenue – (a) North-east side, 17.7m south-eastwards from Hollywood Lane,  (b) South-west side, 16.8m south-eastwards from that junction;

14) Rolvenden Road – (a) North-west side, 9.2m south-westwards from Jarrett Avenue,  (b) South-east side, 10m south-westwards from that junction.

Copies of the order and associated documents can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the order was made.

Persons wishing to question the validity of the order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
