Northumberland, Temporary Road Closure Due To Pole Installation & Mole Ploughing Works

U7014 COUNTY BOUNDARY TO SLAGGYFORD JUNCTION ALSTON

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U7014 County Boundary to Slaggyford Junction Alston from its point at the gable end of Leazes House, Alston heading in a north westwards direction for a distance of 2633 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 15th September 2025 until the 1st October 2025.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 15th September 2025 until the 24th September 2025 between the hours of 08:00 & 18:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 1st October 2025.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via U7014, Access Road to Moscow from the A686, A686, A689, and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Novo Tech to install five poles and to mole plough. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
