ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 23

Pedestrian Crossing in Queensway and Walford Avenue, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Notice is hereby given that the North Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and after consultation with the chief officer of police, intends to install the following crossing in North Somerset: Queensway, Weston-super-Mare outside Weston-super-Mare County Court and North Somerset Magistrates Court - 1 Parallel Signalised Crossing. Walford Avenue, Weston-super-Mare outside Weston-super-Mare County Court and North Somerset Magistrates Court - 1 Toucan Crossing.

Revocation of Crossings: Current crossing on Queensway (southbound), Weston-super-Mare outside Weston-super-Mare County Court and North Somerset Magistrates Court - 1 Toucan Crossing.

Current crossing on Queensway (northbound), Weston-super-Mare outside Weston-super-Mare County Court and North Somerset Magistrates Court - 1 Toucan Crossing.

Current crossing at Walford Avenue, Weston-super-Mare outside Weston-super-Mare County Court and North Somerset Magistrates Court - 1 Toucan Crossing.

(Moving Traffic Prohibitions and Restrictions, North Somerset)

Consolidation Order 2024 (Variation No.5) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order is to amend the North Somerset Council (Moving Traffic Prohibitions and Restrictions, North Somerset) Consolidation Order 2024 to include the introduction of new bus lanes around the junction of B3440 Bristol Road with A370 Somerset Avenue in Weston-super-Mare and additionally another extent of bus lane on Queensway's approach to its junction with Walford Avenue. The current eastbound section of bus lane on Bristol Road between Victory Roundabout and Bristol Road’s junction with Queensway will be removed. There will also be the introduction of a Left Turn Only regulation onto New Bristol Road when approaching from Paddock Park. The extent of the proposal is described in the Schedule to this Notice. Schedule - Part 3: Moving Restrictions - Bus Lanes with exemptions for pedal cycles, motorcycles, and taxis (bus lane in use 12.00 to 00.00hrs)

B3440 Bristol Road westbound and slip road - three sections of bus lane on the slip road from A370 Somerset Avenue to B3440 Bristol Road (total extent of approximately 202m). Plan reference: BSIP-NSC-LIS-J21-DR-CH-0002.

Bus Lanes with exemptions for pedal cycles, motorcycles, and taxis (bus lane in use 24hrs) - Queensway south eastbound - a bus lane formed alongside the delivery exit junction in Queensway. The extent of the proposal exceeds Queensway's junction with Walford Avenue (approximately 38m in length). Plan reference: BSIP-NSC-LIS-QWW-DR-CH-0002.

B3440 Bristol Road southbound and B3440 Bristol Road eastbound slip road - a bus lane between the existing bus stop near Shepherds Way and the top of the slip road to A370 Somerset Avenue (approximately 78m in length). Plan reference: BSIP-NSC-LIS-J21-DR-CH-0010.

Left Turn Only - New Bristol Road (westbound) - left turn only onto New Bristol Road when approaching from Paddock Park. Plan reference: BSIP-NSC-LIS-QWW-DR-CH-0007.

Revocation of Bus Lanes - B3440 Bristol Road Bus Lane - the eastbound section of bus lane on B3440 Bristol Road between Victory Roundabout and Bristol Roads junction with Queensway (approximately 72m in length). Plan reference: BSIP-NSC-LIS-QWW-DR-0011.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of which will be to amend the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 to include amendments to parking restrictions (yellow lines) on Walford Avenue Weston-Super-Mare. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this notice. Schedule – Part 3: Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Stopping, Loading and Unloading

No Waiting at Any Time – Walford Avenue, Weston-super-Mare – double yellow lines on the north side of the road to be extended for a further 20.5m (approximately) from those currently in place extending in a southwest direction from Walford Avenue’s junction with the road known as Pastures Avenue. Plan reference: BSIP-NSC-LIS-QWW-DR-CH-005.

Revocation of No Waiting at Any Time – Walford Avenue, Weston-super-Mare – removal of double yellow lines from Walford Avenue’s junction with Queensway for approximately 32m. Plan reference: BSIP-NSC-LIS-QWW-DR-CH-005.

Walford Avenue, Weston-super-Mare – double yellow lines on the south side of the road to be reduced by 57.5m (approximately) from their starting point at the junction of Walford Avenue and Queensway. Plan reference: BSIP-NSC-LIS-QWW-DR-CH-005

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Footpaths Along St Clements Court, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 13 October 2025

Ref: SW25.26-097

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to replace 17.65m of old metallic gas mains with 17.65m of new plastic mains and new/transfer approx. 39 service pipes to adjacent premises. This order will become operative on the 13 October 2025 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 26 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 10 November 2025

Ref: SW25.26-105

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to replace 123.51m of old metallic gas mains with 123.51m of new plastic mains and renew/transfer approximately six service pipes to adjacent premises. This order will become operative on the 10 November 2025 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 40 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Westfield Close, Uphill, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 18 November 2025

Ref: SW25.26-133

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to carry out a new water connection and lead pipe replacement. This order will become operative on the 18 November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
