Stockport - Temporary Closure For Interchange Cycle Ramp
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(STOCKPORT INTERCHANGE CYCLE RAMP) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Closure of the Stockport Interchange Cycle Ramp, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said ramp. This Order is necessary to allow for works to the deck joints to take place. It is estimated these works will last 15 days.
A diversion will be provided for pedestrians and cyclists via; Stockport Interchange internal staircase, Stockport Interchange 2no. internal lifts, Wellington Road North & Wellington Road Steps, Wellington Road to Mersey Square and Mersey Frontage. This Order came into operation on 26 August 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
