What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL Part of Kiplingcotes Lane, Market Weighton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/proceeding along part of Kiplingcotes Lane, Market Weighton from 580 metres southbound from the junction with Kiplingcotes road for a distance of approximately 170 metres commencing 16 September 2025 until 24 September 2025. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed Kiplingcotes Lane, Market Weighton bell mouth construction for EGL2 power scheme works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within 9 days. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via: Kiplingcotes Lane, A1079 York Road, Gardham Road, South Dalton Road, Etton Westwood Road, Kiplingcotes Road, Goodmanham CP, Etton CP, Market Weighton CP, Cherry Burton CP, Beverley Rural Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward. The road will be closed to all through traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians. The Order will commence on 16 September 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
