What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL Meltonby Road, Meltonby (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Meltonby Road, Meltonby between the junctions of The Mile and Miller Lane commencing 10 September 2025
08:00 hours. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed "Undertake test rod & rope & install sub duct into existing fibre infrastructure" works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 September
18:00 hours. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via The Mile, The Mile Roundabout, Garths End, Yapham Road, Fangfoss Road, Feoffee Lane, Main Street, Meltonby Lane, Meltonby Road and vice versa. The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for the emergency services. The Order will commence on 10 September 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
