What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL Martin Lane, Millington (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Martin Lane, Millington between the junction of Main Street to approx 50m North commencing 10 September 2025

09:30 hours. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed "provide safe working area for engineer to access underground structure in order to provide fibre underground cabling" works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11 September 2025

15:30 hours. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Martin Lane, Swineridge Lane, Church Lane, Main Street and vice versa. The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for the emergency services. The Order will commence on 10 September 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
