What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL Burnby Lane, Pocklington (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/proceeding on foot/whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along Burnby Lane, Pocklington. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed Burnby Lane, Pocklington works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within 4 days. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Burnby Road, Back Lane, Town Street, York Road, The Balk, White Mill Roundabout, The Balk Roundabout, New Street, Burnby Lane, Pocklington CP, Hayton CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for the emergency services. The Order will commence on 8 September 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
