What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(STATION LANE, MILLBROOK)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Station Lane, Millbrook 20 metres either side of the level crossing.
This temporary closure is required to enable a rerail inspection and pothole repairs to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 11pm on the 23 August 2025 to 11am on the 24 August 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Station Lane, Sandhill Close, Houghton Lane, Millbrook Road, Ampthill Road, Woburn Road, Bedford Road, Woburn Road, Beancroft Road, Bedford Road, Station Road, Station Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 23 August 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the following lengths of roads: i. Church End Road, Haynes from A6 to Great Lane ii. G reat Lane, Haynes at the junction with Church End Road iii. E ntire length of Park Palings Walk, Haynes
These temporary closures are required to enable carriageway repairs and ditch clearance works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 26 to 28 August 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for the closure of Church End Road and Great Lane is via Northwood End Road, A600, A507, A6 and vice versa. There is no alternative route for the closure of Park Palings Walk.
The Order will come into operation on 26 August 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Eversholt Road, Steppingley between Church Road and Rectory Road.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repairs and iron works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 26 to 28 August 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Flitwick Road, Steppingley Road, A5120, Temple Way, Church Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 26 August 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Northwood End Road, Haynes outside Hill Farm.
This temporary closure is required to enable new connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 9 to 11 September 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Standalone Warren.
The Order will come into operation on 9 September 2025 for a period of one months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Flitton outside number 52.
This temporary closure is required to enable new gas service works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 9 September 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Wardhedges Road, Silsoe Road, Sand Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 8 September 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Weathercock Lane, Aspley Guise from Burrows Close to number 46.
This temporary closure is required to enable traffic calming works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 September to 3 October 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Aspley Hill, Station Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 8 September 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
Ampthill Road, Houghton Conquest from Meadow Lane roundabout to 600 metres south Bedford Road, Houghton Conquest from Ampthill Road to Sollars Way.
This temporary closure is required to enable footway and carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on the following dates:
Ampthill Road, Houghton Conquest from 12 to 17 September 2025 between 8pm and 5am.
Bedford Road, Houghton Conquest from 18 September to 19 December 2025 for 24 hrs a day.
The roads will be closed at all times during these periods.
The alternative routes for these closures are:
Ampthill Road – A5141, A6, A507, B530 and vice versa
Bedford Road – The Grove, B530 and vice versa
The Order will come into operation on 12 September 2025 for a period of four months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(PULLOXHILL: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 12)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 16 February 2024 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of part of public Footpath No 12, Pulloxhill which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0667 3355 at its junction with Footpath No 22, Pulloxhill in generally south easterly direction for approximately 752 metres to OS GR TL 0727 3349 at its junction with Barton Road has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 26 August 2026
This temporary closure is required as there is a broken bridge at OS GR TL 0702 3342. The closure is expected to continue from 27 August 2025 for up to twelve months.
The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be:
From OS GR TL 0667 3355 proceed in a north easterly direction along Footpath Nos 22 and 8, Pulloxhill to OS GR TL 0690 3375 and Barton Road, then continue to OS GR TL 0692 3380 along Footpath No 10, Pulloxhill.

The Order will continue in force until 26 August 2026 or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within twelve months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
