What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) White Farm Lane (Part), Buttermere; from its junction with Heath Lane for a distance of approximately 200m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement. Alternative route via Hungerford Road – Heath Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 2 day. B) Wymans Hill, West Overton; from its junction with C202 to its junction with C73 to enable Openreach to carry out to provide 1 pole. Alternative route via C73 – C202 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for day. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
C) Park Road (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with Park Close for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction to enable Firmacore to carry out construction of site access, carriageway widening, new footway construction and associated utility connections for site. Alternative route via Park Road (unaffected length) – Old Alexander Road – Parklands – Sherston Road – Park Lane – Park Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. D) Laineys Close, Marlborough; from its junction with North View Place to its junction with Coldharbour Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out footways resurfacing and ironwork adjustment. Alternative route via North View Place – Coldharbour Lane – St Martins – Blowhorn Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 August 2025 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0105.
E) B4696 (Part), Purton; from its junction with property known as No.02 Buryhill Farm for a distance of approximately 300m in a northerly direction to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out bridge inspection and survey works and other associated works. Alternative route via B4696 (unaffected length) – B4042 – A429 – B4040 – B4696 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 14 October 2024 will now recommence in multiple phases: Phase 1 will come into operation on 26 August 2025 and the closure will be required until 31 August 2025. Phase 2 will come into operation on 6 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 2 days.

F) B4042 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its roundabout junction with A3102 for a distance of approximately 150m in a north westerly direction to enable Dave Lucey to carry out 278 works, surfacing and island construction. Alternative route via B4042 (unaffected length) – B4696 – B4040 – A4198 – B4534 – B4006 – A3102 and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 22 July 2025 will now recommence on 26 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 07 September 2025. G) C120 (Part), Tockenham; from outside its property known as Greenway Farm for a distance of approximately 194m in a south easterly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out mains and service connections works and other associated works. Alternative route via C120 (unaffected length) – C131 – A3102 – C120 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 28 May 2025 will now recommence on 26 August 2025 and the closure will be required for 4 days. Orders A) to D) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Orders E) to G) has a maximum duration of 18 months.
The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO.57) 2025 (REF TTRO 10657)
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice. The order is required to enable carriageway surface dressing and associated maintenance works and will be operative from the 15 September 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months. The closures are anticipated to be for varied durations but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that advance signs will be deployed 2 weeks prior to the closure dates. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The closures are anticipated to take place between 15 September 2025 and 28 November 2026.

SECTION 16(A) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all vehicular traffic under a rolling road closure:
a) A420 Bristol Road (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Hardenhuish Avenue to its junction with Marshfield Road.
b) A420 Marshfield Road (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Bristol Road to its junction with Park Lane.
c) A420 Park Lane (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Marshfield Road to its junction with New Road.
d) A420 New Road (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Park Lane to its junction with The Bridge.
e) C365 The Bridge, Chippenham; from its junction with New Road to its junction with High Street.
f) C365 High Street, Chippenham; from its junction with The Bridge to its junction with Market Place.
g) C365 Market Place (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with High Street to it junction with The Causeway.
h) C365 The Causeway, Chippenham; from its junction with Market Place to its junction with London Road.
i) C365 London Road (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with The Causeway to its junction with A4 Pewsham Way.
The above closures will be managed on a ‘rolling road closure’ basis and will be reopened to traffic as soon as safely possible.
And to close temporarily to all traffic:
j) C182 Hill Corner Road, Chippenham; from its junction with B4069 Pew Hill to its junction with B4158 Malmesbury Road.
k) B4158 Malmesbury Road (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with B4528 Hardenhuish Lane to its junction with A420 Park Lane.
These temporary traffic measures are required to safeguard members of the public and competitors whilst enabling the Chippenham Half Marathon to take place. This Order will come into operation on Sunday 14 September 2025 with the exception of vehicles officially involved in the marathon, vehicles being used for ambulance, police or fire brigade purposes, or the purpose of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, or with permission being given by a Police Constable in uniform.
The rolling closures (a) to (i) are anticipated to commence at approximately 09:00 and finish at approximately 13:00 (depending upon the progress of the competition). Closures (j) and (k) are anticipated to be required between 09:00 – 10:15.

B4122 (Part), Sutton Benger; from outside its property known as Draycot Park Farm for a distance of approximately 197m in a south easterly direction to enable Vodafone to carry out carriageway defect repair works and other associated works.
The speed restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This speed limit restriction will come into operation on 26 August 2025 and will be required for 3 days. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Alternative route via Footpath 24, Biddestone (unaffected length) – Footpath 1, Biddestone – Germains Lane – Footpath 28, Biddestone – Footpath 22, Colerne and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 September 2025 and the closure will be required until 03 November 2025.

This Order will come into operation on 25 August 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 31 August 2025.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, POULSHOT, ROWDE, POTTERNE AND DEVIZES) (50MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to introduce a 50mph speed limit on:

A361 Caen Hill, Poulshot, Rowde, Potterne and Devizes – from a point 684 metres west of its junction with C244 Devizes Road to a point 1304 metres east of that junction;

B3101 Marsh Lane, Rowde – from its junction with A361 Caen Hill for a distance of 50 metres in a northerly direction (including spur);

C243 Whistley Road, Potterne – from its junction with A361 Caen Hill for a distance of 35 metres in a southerly direction;
-
C244 Devizes Road, Poulshot – from its junction with A361 Caen Hill for a distance of 70 metres in a southerly direction.
