ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A19 TRUNK ROAD
(OSMOTHERLEY INTERCHANGE TO SOUTH KILVINGTON INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A19 Trunk Road, in the District of Hambleton, to enable bridge painting works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Tuesday 26 August 2025 for 4 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) close the A19 southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Osmotherley Interchange to the entry slip road at South Kilvington Interchange, a distance of 13400 metres;
(ii) close the A19 southbound entry slip road at Osmotherley Interchange;
(iii) close the A19 southbound exit slip road at South Kilvington Interchange;
(iv) close the gaps in the central reservation adjacent to the A19 trunk road from Osmotherley Interchange to Knayton Interchange; and
(v) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A19 southbound carriageway at Thimbleby Village Junction, Over Silton Village Junction, Nether Silton Village Junction and Knayton Village Junction.
It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to close the laybys adjacent to the A19 southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Osmotherley Interchange to the entry slip road at Nether Silton Interchange.
During the closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes, or to traffic officer purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and properties which are accessible from, and only from, the A19. The Order comes into force on 25 August 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.

THE A1(M) MOTORWAY
(JUNCTION 51 TO JUNCTION 50) (No.2)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable loop cutting works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Tuesday 26 August 2025 for 1 night.
The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to close the A1(M):
(i) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 51 (Leeming Bar) to the entry slip road at Junction 50 (Baldersby), a distance of 17,260 metres; and
(ii) southbound entry slip road at Junction 50 (Baldersby).
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance). The Order comes into force on 25 August 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.

THE A1(M) MOTORWAY
(JUNCTION 60 TO JUNCTION 65)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in County Durham, to enable vehicle restraint system renewal works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Monday 15 September 2025 for 28 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, for 24 hours a day, at times, during the works, to impose a temporary 60mph or 50mph speed restriction on the A1(M):
(i) northbound carriageway from 1200 metres south of the exit slip road at Junction 60 (Bradbury Interchange) to the entry slip road at Junction 63 (Blind Lane Interchange), a distance of 28,212 metres;
(ii) southbound carriageway from 1000 metres north of the entry slip road at Junction 64 (Washington/Vigo Interchange) to the entry slip road at Junction 60, a distance of 28,789 metres;
(iii) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 60;
(iv) northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads at Junction 60;
(v) northbound and southbound exit and entry slip roads at Junction 61 (Bowburn Interchange) and Junction 62 (Carrville Interchange);
(vi) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 63; and
(vii) northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads at Junction 63.
It will be necessary to close, between 8pm and 6am, at times, during the works, the A1(M):
(viii) northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 60 to the entry slip road at Junction 63, a distance of 27,036 metres;
(ix) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 63 to the entry slip road at Junction 60, a distance of 27,036 metres; and
(x) side roads as described above in (iv), (v) and (vi).
At times during the works, it will be necessary, during lane closures and hard shoulder running, to ban, vehicles with an overall width exceeding 6’ 6” and an overall weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes on the A1(M):
(xi) northbound carriageway from 2600 metres south of the exit slip road at Junction 61 to 1500 metres north of the entry slip road at Junction 62, a distance of 12,358 metres; and
(xii) southbound carriageway from 1500 metres north of the exit slip road at Junction 62 to 2600 metres south of the entry slip road at Junction 61, a distance of 12,210 metres.
During the closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available.

THE A19 TRUNK ROAD (PORTRACK)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A19 Trunk Road, in Stockton-on-Tees, to enable bridge works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 15 September 2025 for 2 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, for 24 hours a day, to impose a temporary 30mph speed limit on the A19:
(i) circulatory carriageway at Portrack Roundabout,
a distance of 365 metres;
(ii) northbound carriageway from 150 metres north of Pennine Avenue to Portrack Roundabout, a distance of 45 metres;
(iii) northbound carriageway from 150 metres north of Aintree Road to Portrack Roundabout, a distance of 100 metres.
It will also be necessary, between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday and 24 hours a day, starting at 8pm on Friday and ending at 6am on Monday to close the A19 carriageway from the northbound entry to the southbound exit slip road at Portrack Roundabout, a distance of 34 metres. During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic management will be in operation for 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance).
The Order comes into force on 14 September 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
