Footpath 43, Bredbury And Romiley - Temporary Closure For Damage Sustained To The Footbridge
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(FOOTPATH 43, BREDBURY AND ROMILEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Closure of Footpath 43, Bredbury and Romiley, for the extent of the footbridge, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath. This Order is necessary to ensure public safety following damage sustained to the footbridge. It is estimated that the maximum duration of the works will be 6 months. A diversion will be provided via the use of the parallel footpath. This Order is to come into operation on 5 September 2025 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
