Priestgate, East Markham - Temporary Prohibition of Driving
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL(PRIESTGATE, EAST MARKHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE YEAR (BS25-240B)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Ollerton in the District of Newark and Sherwood The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of roads at East Markham in the District of Bassetlaw:- Priestgate, East Markham- (A1 Over Bridge) - from a point 20 metres north-easterly of the north-eastern side of the bridge to a point 20 metres south-westerly of the southwestern side of the bridge
1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required. 2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 00:01 hours on Wednesday 27th August 2025 Untill 23:59 hours Thursday 25th February 2027.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: B1164, Great North Road, West Markham - B1164, Retford Road, Tuxford - Markham Road, Tuxford - Tuxford Road, East Markham - Priestgate and Vice Versa This Order will come into force on 27th August 2025 and continues the restrictions introduced by the 21-day notice BS25-240A which came into force on 7th August 2025 for a maximum of 18 months.
The Prohibition is required due to the likelihood of danger to the public.
