Haughgate Hill, North Wheatley - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving To Install A New Service Duct

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HAUGHGATE HILL, NORTH WHEATLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (BS25-272)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at North Wheatley in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road

a. Haughgate Hill, North Wheatley - From its junction with Gainsborough Road in a north westerly direction for 500 metres

2. No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed in any direction other than that specified in the following lengths of road: -

a. Haughgate Hill, North Wheatley - (north westerly direction) From its junction with the Retford Road to its junction with Gainsborough Road

1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

Road closure - From Friday 12th September until Tuesday 23rd September 2025.
Lane closure - From Thursday 4th September until Wednesday 10th September 2025.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

a. Road closure - A620 Retford Road - Main Street - B1403 - Clayworth Common - Wheatley Road and vice versa

b. Lane closure - Top Street - A620 and vice versa

The Order will come into force on 4th September 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to install a new service duct for new illuminated signs;
