Cadoxton Road - Temporary Road Closure For Railway Bridge Maintenance Works

What is happening?

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.

The Order is necessary to enable Network Rail to carry out essential railway bridge maintenance works in the road.

The Order will come into force on the 25th September 2025 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner.

It is anticipated that the works will take 1 night to complete between the hours of 11pm to 6am.

SCHEDULE
Cadoxton Road will be closed from a point 45m south of its junction with Dynevor Avenue in a southerly direction for a distance of 70m along its length.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of Cadoxton Road, Main Road, Maes Gwyn, A465, A474 and Neath Abbey Road.

Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
