ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A13 GLA ROAD (NEWHAM WAY, LONDON BOROUGH OF NEWHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

1. Transport for London having consulted the London Borough of Newham hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2. The purpose of the Order is to enable ducting installation, chamber and signal modernisation works to take place at A13 Newham Way.

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering, exiting, or proceeding on the:

   (1) unnamed on-slip road connecting (the A13 roundabout at the junctions of Royal Docks Road, North Circular Road and the on and off-slip roads to Newham Way and Alfred’s Way hereafter known as) Beckton Roundabout to the westbound carriageway of Newham Way;

   (2) unnamed off-slip road connecting the westbound carriageway of Newham Way to Woolwich Manor Way.

   The Order will be effective at certain times between 1st September 2025 and 7th November 2025, each night, 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM (ceasing at 5:00 AM on 7th November 2025) or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:

   (1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

   (2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

5. At such times as the prohibitions are in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via Alfred’s way, Newham Way, Newham Way off-slip road connecting Newham Way to Tollgate Road, Tollgate Road, A112 Prince Regent Lane and Newham Way on-slip road westbound to normal route of travel.
