Ballards Road, Temporary Road Closures & Traffic Signal Controls Due To Sewer Works
What is happening?
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (BALLARDS ROAD, DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 NOTICE OF INTENT
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer cover replacement works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1 J of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 29 September 2025. The works expected for:
- Sewer cover replacement works to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 29 September 2025 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 7.00pm to 11.00pm.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on School Road, both sides, from its junction with Ballards Road for a distance of 9 metres in a north-westerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Ballards Road, north-west side, from a point 8.3 metres south-west of the south-western kerbline of School Road for a distance of 22.5 metres in a north-easterly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on School Road, both sides, from a point 9 metres north-west of its junction with Ballards Road to its junction with Broad Street.
- Suspend the bus stop on Ballards Road, north-west side, from a point 17 metres south-west of its junction with Orchard Road for a distance of 20 metres in a south-westerly direction.
4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via School Road, Broad Street, Orchard Road, Ballards Road and Vice versa.
5. When this closure is in place the following locations will temporarily be controlled by:
- 3-way traffic light signals on Ballards Road at a point 24 metres north-east of its junction with School Road, Ballards Road at a point 27.3 metres south-west of its junction with School Road, and Ballards Close at a point 9 metres south-east of its junction with Ballards Road.
