Notice of Making a Public Path Diversion and Defi nitive Map and Statement Modifi cation Order

Dorset Council (Part of Footpath 48, Thorncombe at Newhouse Farm) Public Path Diversion Order 2025
The above order, made on 15 August 2025 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert part of Footpath 48, Thorncombe as shown on the order map as follows:
From the existing path:
From Yawlings Farm at ST 3494 0230 south south west through a fi eld and then south west across another fi eld and a wooded area and into another fi eld and then west south west through woodland and the garden of Newhouse Farm, passing to the north of the house before joining Bridleway 52, Thorncombe at ST 3455 0181 to the west of Newhouse Farm. Width: 1.5 metres
To the new path:
From its junction with Bridleway 47 and Footpath 49, Thorncombe at ST 3507 0206 west through a fi eld gate to ST 3505 0206, then generally south west and south south west through a fi eld to ST 3476 0179, then through a pedestrian gate and into another fi eld and generally south south west to ST 3458 0161, generally west to ST 3455 0161, through a fi eld gate into another fi eld and south west to join Bridleway 52 at ST 3452 0159. Width: 2 metres

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Carol McKay, Defi nitive Map Team, Spatial Planning, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ (Ref: RW/P276), or via email to carol.mckay@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk, not later than 18 September 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Any letters received will be made available for public inspection.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council may confi rm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confi rmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.

Temporary Closure of Unnamed Lane, Langham
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Unnamed Road, Langham outside Langham House as indicated by the traffi c signs on site. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
It will come into operation on 15th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10th October 2025.
This Order will enable Burfitt and Garrett Ltd, safe access to carry out wall repair works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Traffi c Management Order of Shaftesbury Road, Motcombe
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 22nd September 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
[i] To impose a temporary road closure on; Shaftesbury Road, Motcombe as indicated by signs
on site.
[ii] To impose a temporary clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Shaftesbury Road, Motcombe.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections.

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14th November 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway drainage, maintenance and resurfacing works.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
[i] To impose a temporary road closure on; A30 Lotmoor Hill, East Stour as indicated by signs on site.
[ii] To impose a temporary clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along A30 Lotmoor Hill, East Stour.
[iii] To impose a temporary 30mph speed limit on; A30 Lotmoor Hill, East Stour as indicated by signs on site.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections. Temporary traffi c signals will be in place between 06:00 - 20:00 weekdays and 24/7 at weekends.
