What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (C408 Ivy Lane, Frant) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Ivy Lane – from the junction with C408 Hawkenbury Road to the junction with B2169 Bayham Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2169 Bayham Road – C408 Hawkenbury Road and vice versa. The Order commences 9 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 9 and 10 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (B2188 Hendal Hill, Groombridge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Centurion Traffic Management to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Hendal Hill – from the junction with B2110 Withyham Road to the junction with C251 Ladies Mile.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2188 Cherry Gardens Hill, Plumyfeather Lane, Lye Green Road, Church Hill, Black Hill – B2026 High Road, Chuck Hatch Road, Cotchford Hill, Jib Jacks Hill – B2110 High Street, Castlefields, Withyham Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 27 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 27 and 28 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
