Welton Road - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Enable the Proposed Highway Improvement Works

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL WELTON ROAD, BROUGH (PART) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Welton Road, Brough (outside number 130 to Moor Road roundabout) and Loxley Way, Brough (between Welton Road & Rye Crescent).

The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed Highway Improvement works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 9 September 2025.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Moor Road roundabout west on Welton Road, north on Elloughton Road/Main Street then east on Welton Low Road and south to Welton Road new roundabout and vice versa. South on Loxley Way and Constable Way, north east on Ruskin Way, then north on Moor Road and vice versa.

The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for emergency services. The Order will commence on Monday 1 September 2025, and continue in force for a period not exceeding18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
