Dover Street, Hulme Ward - Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic For Development Works
What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary One Way Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC145207263: The City of Manchester (Dover Street, Hulme Ward) (Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Dover Street One Way from Portsmouth Street to Rumford Street (permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Oxford Road, Booth Street East, Upper Brook Street. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate Development Works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 1st September 2025 to 11th December 2026. The Order shall come into operation on 1st September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic The City of Manchester (Dover Street, Hulme Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Dover Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Oxford Road, Booth Street East, Upper Brook Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Development Works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 20th September 2025 to 21st September 2025 with contingency dates of 27th September 2025 to 28th September 2025 and 4th October 2025 to 5th October 2025. The order shall come into operation on 1st September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
