RIBBLETON LANE AND ST MARYS STREET, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF FOOTWAY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any pedestrian to proceed over that length of footway on Ribbleton Lane, Preston from a point north of the visitor's entrance to HM Prison travelling in a North Easterly direction for approximately 160 metres.
2. No person shall cause any pedestrian to proceed over that length of St Marys Street, Preston from outside of St Mary's Church travelling in a North Westerly direction for approximately 50 metres alongside HM Prison car park.
3. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
4. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 1st September 2025 until 1600 hours on Friday 7th November 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
5. The footway on the opposite side of the carriageway will be available for pedestrian usage.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow HM Prison wall repair works to be carried out.
