The Newham (Off-Street Parking Places) (No. 2, 1995) (Amendment No. 16) Order 2025

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham (“the Council”) on 18 August 2025 made the above mentioned Order under Sections 32, 35 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

  2. The general effect of the Order will be to further amend the Newham (Off-Street Parking Places) (No. 2) Order 1995 (insofar as it relates to Stratford Multi-storey car park) so as to:

    (a) revise the existing parking charges as follows:

    (i) up to 1 hour - £2.90, up to 2 hours - £5.90, up to 3 hours - £6.90, up to 4 hours - £7.50, up to 6 hours - £8.00, and 6 to 24 hrs - £8.00; and

    (ii) season tickets: weekly - £49.00, monthly - £199.00, quarterly - £499.00, and yearly - £1250.00;

    Please note the yearly season ticket fee amount has been reduced following consideration of the feedback received to the original proposal published 25 June 2025 https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4914392

    (b) change the existing “pay on foot” method of payment to a cashless payment system. Users will be able to pay parking charges by making an appropriate credit/debit card payment by mobile phone or via the online “PayByPhone” app. Cash payments will still be possible via PayPoint in local shops; and

    (c) introduce an event day parking charge of £15 applicable during event days only for events at the London Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park E20.

  3. Copies of the Order, which will come into force on 1 September 2025 and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection by appointment during normal office hours at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU, by telephoning 020 3373 6415 or by emailing traffic.Orders@newham.gov.uk for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

  4. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
