(Addition of a Footpath)) Definitive Map Modification Order 2024

On 31 July 2025 an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above-named Order without modification under Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and which takes effect on that date.

The effect of the order, confirmed as made, is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for Chichester by the addition of a footpath commencing at point A on the Order Plan from Grevatt’s Lane (grid reference 498538, 101537) with a width of 1.5 metres proceeding in a south-easterly direction, for a distance of 248.85 metres, to where it meets FP 165 at Point B (grid reference 498611, 101299) on the Order Plan numbered 01829.

A copy of the Order and the Order Plan may be seen free of charge at Legal Services, West Sussex County Council, County Hall, Chichester, PO19 1RQ and at Chichester District Council during opening hours. A copy of the Order and Plan may be purchased for £5.00 from Legal Services, County Hall.

If any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 of the Act have not been complied with in relation to it, they may, under paragraph 12 (i) of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 21 August 2025, make an application to the High Court.
