Middlezoy - Temporary Road Closures due to Overhead Poling and Cabling Works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Kicks Hill, Knowleyards Road, Church Road, Old Chapel Road and Langport Road

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along:

Kicks Hill - from the junction with Kicks Hill Lane to the junction with Main Road; Knowleyards Road - from the junction with Kicks Hill Lane, north-westwards for a distance of 152 metres;

Church Road - from the junction with Kicks Hill Lane to the junction with Old Chapel Road;

Old Chapel Road - from the junction with Church Road to the junction with Main Road; and Langport Road - from the junction with Old Chapel Road to the junction with Main Road. A total distance of 1522 metres.

This Order will enable R A Stacey’s, Network Plus and Core Highways to carry out overhead poling and cabling works on behalf of National Grid.

The Order becomes effective on 2nd September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 8th September 2025 and last until 10th October 2025 between the hours of 08:00 - 18:30 for a total of 33 days.
